Lead Landscape Designer:

EDEN Projects is an award-winning landscape design and build management agency based in Victoria, BC. We offer residential and multi-residential landscape design-to-build services across BC. Join our team as the Lead Landscape Designer, where you will collaborate with the Creative Director from conception to completion. As the Lead Landscape Designer, your impact extends beyond traditional landscape designs; crafting environments that align with our core values, creating thoughtfully curated outdoor living spaces for our clients.

This pivotal position within our organization requires your expertise to be put in practice to manage landscaping projects from start to finish. You’ll lead and mentor junior designers with sketches, build models, design presentations, and complete site visits. Salary: $70,000/year (Permanent Full Time) The salary reflects the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits offered.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead a small in-house design team on various projects with direct oversight by the Principal-In-Charge

  • Initiate projects during the concept design phase, crafting imaginative designs aligned with client visions

  • Guide projects through all development stages, from conceptualization to approvals, inspections, and closure

  • Develop conceptional designs, design presentations and moodboards

  • Serve as a senior technical landscape designer, offering mentorship and training to junior staff

  • Generate site design concepts and analyze layouts through both digital and hand-illustrated formats

  • Interface directly with clients, delivering clear, well-articulated, and solution-oriented recommendations

  • Prepare and submit detailed construction drawings for tendering, construction and permit applications

  • Site surveying, elevations, and inventory

  • Contribute to the development and writing of new policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience in landscape design, specifically within residential and outdoor spaces

  • Working knowledge of Vectorworks, and/or CAD (software license, Sketchup Pro and Morpholio accounts all provided)

  • Experience with GIS mapping and LIDAR data integration

  • Site surveying, measurements and elevations experience

  • Ability to work within demanding timelines and keep detailed records of billable hours

  • Confidence in creating detailed construction and concept drawings

  • Intermediate knowledge of planting composition; horticulture, zones 7-9

  • Experience and/familiarity with procurement and estimating is a

  • Strong time management and critical thinking

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English communication

  • Positive team-oriented attitude

  • The position requires occasional local and regional travel, and the successful candidate must have their vehicle (with mileage reimbursement)
